Pediatric Acute Care Associates of North Texas, PLLC is recruiting an additional part-time CPNP-AC to join 2 full-time PICU nurse practitioners and 7 Pediatric Critical Care physicians.!

Our private practice pediatric critical care physician/ nurse practitioner group provides pediatric critical care coverage for a tertiary, multidisciplinary, 20 bed PICU in Dallas, Texas.

The PICU at Medical City Children’s Hospital is a Level I, multidisciplinary PICU with over 1,200 admissions per year. Attending level intensivists provide 24/7 in-house coverage for medical and surgical (general, neurosurgical, craniofacial, ENT, ECMO, CRRT) patients. Comprehensive pediatric subspecialists are on staff, including a separate Pediatric Hospitalist Service which provides general pediatric inpatient care for ~1200 patients per year. Medical City Children’s Hospital is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group with an active bone marrow/ stem cell transplant program. MCCH also has a renal transplant programs and Level III Trauma Program.

The PICU/CPNP-AC group at Medical City Children's is active in educational initiatives sponsored by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, including the Pediatric Fundamental Critical Support Course (P-FCCS) and participate in ELSO. The ECMO Program at Medical City Children's has recently received "Gold Status" for a Center of Excellence for Pediatric ECMO by ELSO. Intensivists are active members in the Foundation for Pediatric Acute Care and Quality which supports multi-center clinical studies as a member of PALISI and participates in quality initiatives. The Medical City Children’s PICU is a participant in the Virtual PICU (VPS).

Our current job posting is to hire a part-time CPNP-AC to work approximately work 2 to 7 shifts per month. Each shift is a 12-hour dayshift working side by side with the PICU intensivist in the bedside care of critically ill children. The part-time CPNP CPNP-ACs participate in critical care rounds, procedures, stabilization of postoperative patients, trauma and medical patients presenting to the PICU. Responsibilities include medical assessment of patients, diagnosis, formulation of treatment plan, entering orders, writing or dictating daily notes, coordinating discharges and transfers of patients in the course of managing patients in the PICU throughout the day with the attending PICU physician. CPNP-AC applicants must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.We offer a competitive salary, hospital credentialing and malpractice insurance.

Qualified applicants must have:

1) A minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Acute Care NP experience

2) Certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

3) Availability including some weekend coverage and holiday coverage
