Job Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision aerospace components in accordance with strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis) to machine aerospace components to tight tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols
Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and tool changes as needed
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
Maintain accurate production records and inspection logs
Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues to maintenance staff
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve machining challenges
Adhere to AS9100 and other aerospace quality system requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety protocols
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, Siemens)
Strong understanding of machining practices, speeds/feeds, and tooling
Knowledge of aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
Ability to use and maintain precision measuring instruments
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with AS9100 or NADCAP standards
Experience with 5-axis CNC machining
Programming experience (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) is a plus
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
