The Proposal Specialist works in the Glassboro campus' Office of Sponsored Programs and reports to its Director of Sponsored Programs.
This person will be responsible for assisting faculty and staff in the preparation of federal, state, and other grant applications and budgets.
Additionally, the Proposal Specialist will ensure all compliance regulations and university policies/procedures are followed while preparing grant applications.
Description: * Review proposal submission instructions or guidelines from funding sources * Assemble proposal packages by supplying/filling out forms, inputting institutional data, and securing internal institutional approvals * Assist faculty with preparing grant budgets, including initial development and (if needed) re-budgeting to accommodate modifications, increases, or decreases in available funds * Provide exceptional customer service and support to faculty/staff by providing pre-award and non financial post-award assistance (i.e.
seeking answers from funders, processing no cost extension requests) Required Qualifications: Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and several years of Grant Proposal, Pre-Award, or Research Administration experience * Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and implementing efficient systems that deliver grant success * Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders throughout our esteemed University * An openness to continuous process improvement and new technologies We strongly value candidates with: * Research Administrator certification (CRA, CPRA, CFRA) * Five or more years of experience * Diverse grant experience that includes submission work with federal, state and private grants * Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities * Ability to prioritize, exercise sound judgment and discretion, meet multiple deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders * Ability to learn and utilize new technologies * Attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with budgeting, Cayuse, Banner, grants.gov application packages, and Adobe Acrobat * Familiarity with federal award management systems such as eRA Commons, ASSIST and Research.gov * Familiarity with 2 CFR Part 200 regulations (formerly OMB Circulars A-133, A-21, A- 102) * Working knowledge of research compliance (human/animal subjects, conflict of interest, Intellectual Property, and other regulatory requirements) * Certified Research Administrator, CRA, CPRA or CFRA * Experience with Microsoft Excel Advertised: May 6 2025 Eastern Daylight Time Applications close: May 20 2025 11:55 PM Eastern Daylight Time
