International Operations Agent/ Air and Ocean
General Responsibilities
An International Operations Agent is in charge of planning a company's transportation, including the most economical and quickest routes for shipping merchandise to and from destination, contracting for common carrier and other transportation facilities, negotiating with carriers for adjustments for damages to merchandise, and making the necessary rearrangements resulting from delays, damages, or irregularities in transit. International Operations Agent completes export and import activities in both the export and import environment in accordance with U.S. and international requirements, laws, and regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of exported or imported products to ensure excellent customer service and profitability
Specific Job Duties
Responsible for all international needs – Import/Export – Air/Ocean
Quoting, booking, tracking and updating billing
Handle all customer service-related issues with clients
Negotiate rates with agents
Ensure all processes and procedures are being followed
Will rotate between departments based on each groups needs
Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Requirements
Two years’ experience
Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
Strong communication skills
Balance individual responsibilities
Excellent customer service skills
High School Diploma or GED
