School ASL Interpreter

Position: Sign Language Interpreter

Location: Cadillac, MI

Contract Length: Remainder of 24-25 School Year

Compensation: Up to $1,750/week based on experience

Job Description:

1. Carry out the interpreting services as outlined in the studentâ s Individualized

Education Plan (IEP)

2. Utilize instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials and techniques, under the direction of the Teacher Consultant & Teacher Specialist for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and classroom teacher, to meet the individual educational needs of the student(s)

3. Assist the student(s) assigned by working individually and/or in small group

instructional activities

4. Participate, as requested, as part of an IEP team in planning for the student(s).

5. Attend all required meetings, workshops and in-service activities

6. Maintain confidentiality with respect to student, parent and staff information, at all times in and outside of the school setting

7. Ensure a safe environment for student(s) at all times

8. Demonstrate a positive attitude in working with the student, parent, other staff

members and community members

Education and Certification Requirements:

All candidates must have Michigan state licenses/certifications
