Overview

We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our team for an 8-week, part-time internship focused on Information Technology operations and security audit preparation. The intern will assist with IT systems documentation, security policy reviews, vendor assessments, and SOC 2 Type 2 audit readiness tasks. This internship is designed to provide practical, real-world exposure to IT operations, cybersecurity frameworks, and internal audit practices.

Key Responsibilities

Mapping IT systems and documenting data flows

Reviewing IT/security policies against compliance standards

Gathering evidence for security controls (e.g., MFA, device management)

Assisting with vendor risk assessments and access reviews

Participating in a mock audit and presenting a final learning summary

Throughout the internship, the student will also set personal learning goals and deliver a final presentation showcasing their growth, skills gained, and contributions.

Estimated 20 hours per week (Monday through Thursday, approximately 5 hours per day)

Skills Required:

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;

Must be self-motivator and self-starter;

Exceptional listening and analytical skills;

Solid time management skills;

Ability to multitask and successfully operate in a fast paced, team environment;

Must adapt well to change and successfully set and adjust priorities as needed;

Education/Experience:

Enrolled in a degree program in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

Basic understanding of IT systems (Google Workspace, SaaS tools, networking concepts)

Familiarity with security concepts like IdP's, EDR, MFA, encryption, and access controls (a plus, but not required)

Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively
