Summary
Our client is a reputable general contractor with a strong backlog of awarded projects in the Bakersfield area. Specializing in ground-up construction, DSA schools, modernizations, and renovations, they serve both public and private sector clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This is a great opportunity for a construction professional with commercial and DSA experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily on-site construction activities
Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and trainings
Develop, update, and maintain project schedules
Coordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project managers
Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
Attend and/or lead contractor meetings to align on project milestones
Ensure quality standards are upheld and all documentation is accurate and complete
Order materials and coordinate deliveries to maintain workflow
Manage punch lists, start-up testing, and final project turnover
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
Experience with ground-up, DSA schools, modernizations, and public/private sector renovations
Commercial project experience will also be considered
Proficient in managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedules
Strong organizational and communication skills
Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented with solid problem-solving abilities
