Summary
The Maintenance Engineering Intern provides on-site technical support by trouble shooting and repairing equipment and performing routine preventative maintenance. This role diagnoses technical problems or errors and works to determine proper solutions. The Maintenance Engineering Intern also supports on-site activities such as installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks. Able to recognize equipment operational deficiencies and make recommendations for repairs.
Dimensions of Position
Trouble shoot problems of mechanical & Hydraulic systems
Utilize AutoCad and Solidworks to aid in engineering projects
Track mechanical performance
Written & verbal communication to obtain solution
Implement solution & follow up on solution outcomes
Complies with quality management system including adherence to procedures and development of Product Documentation for safe and effective Assembly and Use.

Education and/or Experience
Currently pursuing Associates or Bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, Computer Aided Design.
2 years assembly experience or industrial maintenance experience preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
Good mechanical aptitude to evaluate mechanical problems, outlines requirements, plan projects, and solve problems.
Basic working knowledge of basic wiring, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electricity, and electronics
Basic mechanical skills: motor replacement, mechanical part replacement, testing of repaired equipment for the service of associated refractory application equipment.
Requires good reading, writing, and mechanical aptitude.
Basic computer skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Maintenance Manager in creating Preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
Assist in identifying and documenting critical spares list of manufacturing machine components
Help identify potential machine or process improvements
Provide administrative support for the Maintenance program
Assist with documenting written Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
Aid with internal audits and inspections
Other duties as assigned

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The work environment has temperature extremes and moderate to high noise level. Regional travel is required occasionally.
