Principal - Wastewater Engineer

Job Description

Hazen is seeking a qualified and experienced Principal Engineer to support the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facility infrastructure in Philadelphia and throughout PA and NJ. Candidates must have 5 to 10 years of relevant municipal water/wastewater design and construction experience.

The position will include a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in the ‘water space’ (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance). Client development, project management, technical leadership and staff mentoring opportunities will be possible for the selected individual across Hazen’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Primary focus will be projects in PA and NJ. Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

5 - 10 years’ experience in the water/wastewater field.

Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Proficient in all MS Office based computer software.

Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Self-starter with attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills.

A current PE license is required (PA preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment).

Candidate will play a key role in significant infrastructure projects in the Philadelphia area.

Educational Requirements:

BS degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. (MS or MEng preferred)
