Ampsight is looking for a Cloud Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance to join our innovative team. In this role, you will help design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions, primarily using Amazon Web Services (AWS). You’ll work with technologies such as Python, Flask, Terraform, AWS CDK, and containerized environments to automate deployment pipelines, manage infrastructure-as-code, and support mission-critical services for our defense and intelligence clients. Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, and scripting in Bash or Shell, along with knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure and core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda), will be key to your success. This is a hands-on engineering position ideal for someone excited about cloud-native architectures, security, and operational excellence in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications:
3–5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or a related field
Proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell scripting
Experience with Flask for backend development
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK
Strong understanding of core AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, Lambda, and CloudWatch
Familiarity with Azure cloud services (IAM, Networking, Security Groups)
Experience working in Linux environments and using Linux commands
Proficiency with Git version control
Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker
Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., subnets, routing, security groups)
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (preferably using Jenkins)
Knowledge of web servers such as Apache HTTPD and Nginx is a plus
Experience with ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS integration is desirable
Familiarity with REST API integration and front-end technologies such as React/JavaScript is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and deploying cloud solutions using AWS
Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement infrastructure-as-code
Support the management and monitoring of cloud resources
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues
Contribute to documentation of cloud architectures and best practices
Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and trends
Assist in ensuring compliance with security and operational standards
Requirements
US citizenship required
An active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military experience
Willing to work on a hybrid model
Employees must obtain the Security+ Certification by 90 days employment
