ROLE SUMMARY:
This role is part of the Controls Team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department.
As a member of the Controls Team, you will play a key role in the success of our business and have critical responsibilities across the resort. You will be required to manage and maintain audio, CCTV, interactive theming, theatrical lighting, show control and attraction effects across resort venues. Areas of responsibility include rides, attractions, hotels, restaurants, waterpark, and retail locations.
This role will involve designing, managing, maintaining, troubleshooting and resolving various equipment issues to ensure optimal performance, safety and guest satisfaction. This position requires you to establish effective communication with internal teams and external partners whilst demonstrating strong organizational skills for equipment inventory.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage and maintain audio, visual, interactive theming, theatrical lighting and CCTV systems of rides, attractions and venues throughout the resort.
Creating and completing planned preventative and reactive work orders as assigned.
Answer and respond to reactive calls when equipment is malfunctioning.
Troubleshoot and solve problems relating to subject matters at work.
Completes assignments independently or while leading others in a team.
Design, install and maintain audio / video systems.
Able to build and maintain respect with peers.
Communicate and present ideas with different departments verbally and through written documents.
Proficient in discussing projects with internal partners, vendors or sub-contractors.
Self-motivated to build contacts and relationships with peers from other departments.
Assists as required in all emergency procedures as outlined by the emergency plan.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills with an awareness of guest satisfaction.
Strong computer skills utilizing Outlook, Teams and being able to create Excel and Word documents.
Manage equipment and tool inventory.
Ability to acquire Dante Level 1 Certification and Q-SYS Level 1 Certification within the first year of employment.
Health & Safety
Ensure compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Merlin Entertainments Group Health, Safety and Security Policy.
Understand risk assessments and ensure reporting of any new risks as appropriate.
In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner.
Actively share ideas, comments, and suggestions for improving safety within their work areas with their appropriate line manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Skills and Competencies
Requires at least two years of experience in a technical based role.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams.
Knowledge of audio / video control systems (e.g., Brightsign Players, BooTunes, Gilderflukes).
Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Experience with troubleshooting and fault rectification
Knowledge of Q-SYS control system software.
Ability to program and modify Q-SYS designs with new and existing audio systems is preferred.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Self-motivated and actively willing to take the initiative.
Strong problem-solving skills and dedicated to providing outstanding guest service.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred.
