Job Title: PLC Technician

Job Description

The PLC Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. This position demands strong mechanical skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyor systems, and proficiency in PLC usage.

Responsibilities

Participate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure, including analysis and problem-solving.

Collaborate with the production team to make informed decisions regarding issues and provide solutions through investigation, analysis, testing, and follow-up.

Conduct maintenance, testing, and upgrades of all production equipment.

Install and test new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.

Interface with machine tools and special equipment, troubleshoot existing equipment for electrical or electronics failures, and modify machines to enhance performance.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair duties alongside planned mechanical maintenance.

Contribute to a continuous improvement culture while adhering to safe workplace practices.

Develop positive and respectful interactions with managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and machine operators.

Execute additional duties as required by supervisors.Essential Skills

Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Strong understanding of communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, Device Net, and Profibus.

Expertise in motor control systems.

Knowledge of HMI software, including Factory Talk SE and ME.

Understanding of control loops (PID) and I/P converters.

Ability to write messages from PLC to PLC and comprehend function blocks.

Three plus years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.

Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair skills.

Experience with RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5 software.

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with European equipment, specifically French and Italian equipment and coding.

Experience with DNR software.

Proficiency in ladder logic and basic understanding of structured text and function block.

Ability to replace and configure AB Powerflex and Yaskawa VFDs.

Experience with Panelbuilder 32 and RS View Studio Machine Edition.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The role operates on a night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:30am with a weekly 2-2-3 rotation, allowing for every other weekend off. On Mondays, a half-day schedule is observed. The environment requires working with advanced technologies and equipment, ensuring a dynamic and challenging workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Waco, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $93912.00 - $116272.00/yr.
