Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace components while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine aerospace components according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Programming & Adjustments: Load and adjust CNC programs, select appropriate tooling, and modify offsets as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
Material Handling: Work with aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and composites.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machining issues, tool wear, and inconsistencies in part production.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of CNC lathe operation experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and working with CNC programming (G-code & M-code).
Certifications (Preferred): Machining-related certifications (NIMS, AWS, or equivalent) and familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and precision in measuring and machining tight-tolerance parts.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and Swiss-style machining
Familiarity with Mastercam, Fanuc, or Siemens controls
Aerospace industry experience with FAA compliance knowledge
