ELECTRICAL FIELD SUPERINTENDENT

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Electrical Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of electrical construction projects on-site. This includes managing field personnel, coordinating with subcontractors and project managers, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining schedules, and ensuring that all electrical work meets applicable codes, quality standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and lead electrical crews on construction sites.

Coordinate and communicate with general contractors, clients, project managers, and inspectors.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

Plan and schedule daily tasks and manpower based on project timelines.

Monitor safety practices and ensure OSHA and company safety standards are followed.

Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment for field operations.

Conduct daily site inspections and resolve field-related issues as needed.

Provide on-site training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for field employees.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, reports, and change orders.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.

Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local code requirements.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficient in using tablets/computers and construction software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).

OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Conditions:

Outdoor construction sites in varying weather conditions.

May require travel within and outside of California.

Extended hours or weekend work may be required based on project needs. Overnight work as needed. Must be flexible.Company Description
