Job Description
A prominent Electronics company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Sr. Electronics Engineer to join their team. This is a Direct Hire position. This person will be developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role will also focus on ensuring efficient, high-quality production through process development, equipment programming, and problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement electronic manufacturing procedures and processes in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Support new product introductions by collaborating with design engineers and customers to ensure manufacturability.
Program and optimize equipment for SMT, selective soldering, wave soldering, conformal coating, and mechanical/box build assembly processes.
Design and coordinate production tooling, fixtures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment.
Create and update operator process documentation, including training materials.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, analyze defects, and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce scrap.
Utilize data analysis to monitor production trends and drive process enhancements.
Work closely with quality teams to ensure compliance with IPC, ISO, and other industry standards.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize workflow.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in electronics manufacturing.
3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or process development.
Strong understanding of SMT, selective soldering, wave soldering, and box build assembly processes.
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bills of material.
Experience with electronic process development, programming, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and process optimization.
Working knowledge of regulatory and quality standards such as IPC, ISO, and IATF.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with production tooling design.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
