DESCRIPTION

The Chemical Engineer"s primary focus is to provide technical support to the organization regarding chemicals and changing regulatory landscape while applying engineering techniques to optimize chemical processes, assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products, including design and development of facilities.

May serve in both the technical and project management facets of the supporting new and existing projects.

Responsibilities will range from providing technical support to the organization including evaluating and testing new processes, improving current processes, collecting data and performing analysis, investigating and troubleshooting plant/process problems to assisting project engineer on collaborative projects.

Responsibilities:

*Familiarity with EHS practices

*Familiarity with OSHA regulations

*Familiarity/experience with ISO procedures and certification as well as Technical Data Sheets, COA, SDS"s and various regulatory compliance as it relates to chemicals including hazardous chemicals

*Ability to deal and resolve complaints

*Provide technical support and expertise technical support to the establishment and maintenance of outside vendors - converting, repackaging, laboratory work, etc

*Ensure that potential safety issues related to the operation, the environment, the process and the product are considered at all stages of production.

*Manage and facilitate chemical process design projects that include design, technical feasibility, and implementation within an established budget while tracking and reporting on project

*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot and solve operational issues as well as optimize manufacturing equipment and process designed to be efficient and cost-effective that could require coordination with departments that ensure efficiency and quality remain high.

*Resolve complex infrastructure issues by coordination of internal resources and third-party vendors for execution of projects.

*Use scientific, mathematical and engineering principals to solve problems and improve processes while also, collecting data, providing analysis / interpretation and summarization of operating trends and data

*Completion of documentation to show and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols.

*Research new methods of handling and/or manufacturing chemicals and gathering estimates of the cost of production.

Requirements

*Bachelor"s degree in chemical engineering or related degree from a 4-year college or university required.

*Minimum 3 years of engineering experience within a fast-paced, technical environment highly preferred.

*Project Management experience working with cross-functional teams highly desired.

*Previous chemical industry and chemical facility design experience.

*Laboratory experience.

*Proficient knowledge of MS Office products, including a high proficiency in Excel.

*Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.

*Strong mathematical, problem-solving skills.

*Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

*Must possess experience managing multiple, competing projects at one time.

*Additional technical training a plus.
