About the Role: We are seeking a Project Engineer (or Project Manager or Project Coordinator) with a strong technical background in Electronics and or Electrical Fundamentals combined with strong Project Skills, Experience with PLC Systems (programmable logic controller) is a plus, Must have solid Project Commercial Knowledge, be Very Detail Oriented with Strong Follow Up Skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of project deliverables based on commercial customer specifications, quotations, and purchase orders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external clients on assigned projects while also communicating with internal teams including Electrical Engineering, Field Engineering, Production, Accounting and Sales.
Create progress reports and update project schedules on a monthly basis.
Work closely with System Design Engineering to develop, track, and communicate project schedules aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
Ensure engineering, manufacturing, and customer service resources align with project goals.
Oversee technical document submittals, including RFIs, Design Approvals, and Change Orders.
Collaborate with third-party subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
Handle equipment delivery requests and paperwork, preparing packing slips as needed.
Process/Approve invoice requests based on project payment milestones and maintain monthly billing forecasts.
Manage project documentation archives in electronic and hard copy formats.
'Preferred' Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Networking: Understanding of routers, switches, hubs, TCP/IP, Ethernet, speed, and servers.
Electronics Fundamentals: Strong grasp of circuits, PCB's, wiring and other areas of electronics.
Manufacturing & Assembly Experience: ideally for an electronics manufacturing firm with low and high level electronics.
Electrical AutoCAD / Technical Drawings and related Documentation: system layouts, interconnect diagrams, logic diagrams
'Preferred' Commercial Knowledge:
Understanding: Bonding, insurance, payment milestones, change orders, project scheduling, and cost management (material, labor, overhead, SG&A, margin).
Experience creating and/or adhering to lists of parts and Bills of Materials
Financial Reporting: Revenue recognition via percentage of completion, balance sheet, and income statement analysis.
Logistics & Compliance: Freight/shipping, customs, duty, tariffs, warranty terms
Prior experience in project management or project engineering within electrical contracting, electrical engineering or electronics manufacturing firm.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
'Preferred' Education: A College Degree (AS or BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering is and/or electronics training, certification, military training.
Pluses: Experience with License Agreements for Hardware, Software or other technical products; Experience with PLC Based Systems is also a plus.
