Job Description
Perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work at construction sites that include installation, servicing, maintenance, repair and altering of low voltage communications cabling, and other various low voltage cabling systems. Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems, move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials.
Primary Role and Responsibilities
· Installation and service of low voltage category cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 6 for Audio/Visual Distributed Communications Systems.
· Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cable infrastructure systems and perform repairs, as necessary.
· Perform upgrades and additions to cabling infrastructure systems to increase functionality and usability.
· Coordinate with other Team Members for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
· Transport a variety of items (e.g. ladders, tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at client site.
· Achieve performance targets established by leadership for applicable Key Performance Indicators.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
· Adhere to industry standards and OSHA safety protocols.
Test voltage and continuity with a multimeter.
Assembles and installs ceiling speakers, volume control panels, rack equipment, mount equipment, and associated low-voltage cable.
General understanding of network topology
Aerial boom/scissor lift certification, or within 60 days
Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Education/Experience Requirements
Strong experience with low voltage cable pulling and AV/Distributed Communications installation.
Minimum 2+ years’ experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage commercial cabling.
Associate degree or Certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to safely drive company vehicles.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Awareness of OSHA safety standards.
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
Speak fluent English.
You must have a personal vehicle, willing to use for work assignments.
Positive attitude
Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in US.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Be able to work in various environments (indoors, outdoors, heights and confined spaces
Operate various hand tools, power tools ladders, test equipment.
Use of Microsoft Office software.
