At EIM, we are reimagining healthcare education to humanize patient care in every community. We offer accessible lifelong learning to healthcare professionals transforming their communities. The Learning Designer will play a pivotal role in the success of EIM's mission with our University Partner (UP) stakeholders. This person works closely with EIM and UP stakeholders, as assigned, to create and deliver online and hybrid courses that enrich the student experience across UP programs and academic disciplines (i.e., DPT, OTD, PA, etc.). The Learning Designer will report to the Associate Director and work collaboratively across teams to enhance the delivery of graduate healthcare curriculum and create systems for collaborative course and content development.

Responsibilities

Pay starting at $55,000

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following)Instructional Design and Course DevelopmentCollaborate with faculty to design and develop instructional content, interactive learning activities, and assessments that align with course objectives, learning outcomes, and program goals.Write measurable learning objectives and design both formative and summative assessment strategies, particularly for hybrid environments.Support faculty in developing instructional content based on established project timelines.Apply institution-specific and discipline-based design standards to ensure compliance and instructional consistency.Assist in curating or developing engaging, high-quality, inclusive materials that reflect UDL principles and meet accessibility standards (WCAG).Assist in review of curriculum mapping efforts and escalate minor technical issues or timeline concerns (“tier 1” escalations) as needed.Faculty Support and TrainingProvide faculty with training on module building processes and ensure access to necessary systems and resources.Provide training and coaching to faculty on LMS tools and features (e.g., discussion boards, quizzes, gradebook) and offer 1:1 or group support on hybrid course design best practices as assigned.Respond to Faculty and Student Support Center tickets as assigned, including participation in a rotating schedule for after-hours support.Quality Assurance and EvaluationConduct quality assurance reviews of instructional content to identify improvements and ensure alignment with institutional standards and Quality Matters, or other assigned quality rubrics.Gather and analyze course data as assigned to help inform recommendations for iterative improvements in instructional content and delivery.Share recommendations for iterative improvements to course-level instructional content with faculty.Team Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with the Director, Associate Directors, and other Learning Designers to refine team workflows and implement process improvements for increased team efficiency.Effectively communicate with Associate Directors, university partners, and other EIM teams regarding instructional needs, project updates, and course development progress.Serve as a meeting liaison and interface with UPs for low-stakes collaboration and communication as assigned.Develop and utilize team knowledge base articles and workflows outlining course development processes and best practices.Provide training and coaching to internal team members as assigned.Protect the organization’s value by maintaining confidentiality of information, including protection of intellectual property and confidentiality of tools and methods internally and externally.Technology Use and Design InnovationExplore and recommend effective and creative uses of technologies, including leveraging AI, to enhance instruction and create new learning environments.Collaborate with other team members to develop innovative learning solutions.Build new and update existing instructional content within the EIM Learning Object Repository and assist in the promotion of its use.

Qualifications

Key QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field1-7 years of relevant work or project experience in instructional design, online course development, or other related fieldsExperience using learning management systems (Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, or equivalent)Proven ability to work independently, manage time and priorities, and meet deadlines without direct supervision in a distributed or remote work settingDemonstrated knowledge of research-based instructional strategies that engage all studentsExperience with multimedia development, web-based environments, and comprehensive instructional designExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and document work progress (e.g. status updates, collaboration notes) in remote and asynchronous formatsAbility to thrive in a diversified work environment with varying levels of ambiguityExperience integrating theory and practice to deliver pedagogically sound learning experiencesTrack record of working under deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHighly self-motivated and self-directed, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, faculty, and/or subject matter experts in a remote environmentPreferred:Experience in healthcare education or related fieldKnowledge of curricular mapping and application of instructional design methodologiesExperience with quality reviews of online learning materials
