ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the principal in promoting the improvement of instruction through a variety of strategies to ensure that students of all abilities and cultures learn.
Assists the principal in promoting positive student behavior and development through effective implementation of a school adopted discipline plan and a well-rounded student activities program that are in compliance with Edmond Public Schools' policies and regulations.
Assists the principal in managing personnel effectively while complying with personnel policies, statues, and rules to enhance an environment that is conducive to student learning.
Assists the principal in administering budgets based on documented program needs and ensures facilities are appropriately maintained and safety of students and staff is a priority.
Assists the principal in actively seeking parental and community involvement in realizing the mission of the school.
Demonstrates an understanding of school climate and its relationship to positive morale and to the achievement of the mission of the school.
Assists the principal in providing leadership in coordinating research based school improvement efforts in collaboration with staff, parents and community members.
Demonstrates leadership by actively participating in professional development opportunities, by exercising professional conduct and by communication that is consistent with the mission of Edmond Public Schools.
Ensures the implementation of Edmond Public Schools curriculum and state mandates through frequent monitoring of instructional programs and classroom visits.
Serves on district committees as a resource member or leader in developing/studying district programs, procedures and curriculum.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Length of Contract: One hundred ninety-five (195) contract days.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education: Master's or Professional Degree
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Teaching certificate & valid elementary administrator l certificate.
Previous Experience:
3-5 years work-related experience is required. Previous experience in a leadership position at the district/state level preferred.
