JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director oversees all aspects of Human Resources management for Chase Oaks Church. This role is responsible for defining, developing, and implementing human resources initiatives, while maintaining legal compliance and best practices. We are seeking a hands-on, experienced leader who has the proven ability to manage a broad range of daily Human Resources functions through adaptability and collaboration, all while supporting a culture of celebration and fun! This position reports to the Chief of Staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees hiring in conjunction with the Chief of Staff, which includes making recommendations regarding staffing needs, recruiting a diverse candidate pool, and managing all steps of the hiring process
Builds healthy work relationships with employees through a culture of respect and trust; able to listen well, manage challenging situations, and provide a safe place for people to voice concerns
Prepares employee communications, including offer and change letters
Ensures HRIS data integrity by partnering with the Payroll Account to manage HRIS transactions impacting payroll, new hires, staff updates and changes
Oversees the Payroll process by partnering with the Payroll Accountant to process payroll and related financial transfers
Collaborates with the Chief of Staff, Financial Director and Executive Director in salary administration, including new hire and year-end compensation recommendations and guidance on industry salary standards
Coordinates employee benefits administration: annually works with broker to solicit bids from medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance providers; reviews proposals and presents options to the HR Team for final decision
Oversees Workers Compensation claims
Works with the background check service provider on reporting and processing issues for Chase Oaks Church
Collaborates with the Chief of Staff to resolve employee concerns and disciplinary matters to improve employee job satisfaction
Generates and manages 90 Day, Monthly 1:1 and Annual performance reviews along with terminations and exit interviews
Maintains accurate employee records and ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements; maintains the Chase Oaks Employee Handbook
Makes recommendations regarding HR policies and procedures to ensure equitable treatment in the areas of employment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations
Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; prepares and submits the annual EEO Data Collection Report

JOB PROFILE:
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent, demonstrated organizational skills; detail-oriented
Proven ability to take initiative and independently complete tasks to meet deadlines
Experience coordinating and leading projects
Strong ability to handle and maintain sensitive/confidential information with empathy, tact, diplomacy, and discretion
Well-developed interpersonal skills; flexibility and ability to work as a team player with a variety of people; customer-service focus when interacting with staff
Strong working knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
Strong working knowledge of talent management and benefits administration
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems (Paycom)
Ability to effectively address and problem-solve HR issues in a manner consistent with organizational policies as well as state and federal law
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
At least five years hands-on human resource management experience preferred
Professional HR certification a plus (SHRM or HRCI)
Experience working for a large church or non-profit a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required. High attention to customer service.
