Description
The Shipping Lead reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor and works cooperatively with others in different areas and departments.
Must be able to work with other departments and employees to troubleshoot issues and produce a resolution process to ensure service outcomes are met.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; ability to write simple correspondence; effectively communicate information to stakeholders, management and external sources.
Must be able to resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; work well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with stressful situations.
Follow production schedule ensuring production standards are met.
Assist with physical inventory inspection and measurements as required.
Qualifications
Must be able to compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Must have computer skills and general knowledge of receiving and shipping. Knowledge of Word and Excel is a plus.
Must have a strong drive for results is essential, with self-directed leadership skills, requiring minimal supervision and a person who thinks outside the box.
Must adhere to and follow all safety requirements/policies and maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Must be able to operate pallet jack, forklift for loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
Must have 2 years experience in receiving, unloading trucks and material handling is required.
Knowledge in Inventory Management, cycle counts and/or scheduling is a plus.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is required.
This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
Position requires ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Position may require bending, kneeling and stooping
Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
