The Staff Engineer Test will report directly to the Director of Test. This position will support COLUMBIA program initiatives that include facilities, test equipment, personnel training and test processes. This person is expected to take the lead on the initiatives. This includes driving towards deadlines and providing updates/status to the test manager/executive team on progress.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Technical lead in developing Test Plan for Columbia.
Support phased manning planning for Columbia.
Assist training organization with qualification programs.
Identifying unique training needs & requirements for Columbia.
Test procedure reviews & validation for functionality and execution.
Review and assist with special planning for organization.
Administration of team training, including an active role in project team training and improvement as well as implementation of Learning Organization Fundamentals.
Assisting with the Columbia Surveillance program.
Validating work team readiness for complex or high risk evolutions.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Twenty years of experience in the Shipyard Test Organization or relevant Electric Boat shipyard experience. Navy Leadership, College Degree, Maritime Graduate or other supervisory experience will be considered in lieu of shipyard experience. (Current EB Test Engineers must already be at the Staff level to be considered for this position.)
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools.
