Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guest and ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting on our group boats. Catering Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Catering Server will follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. Set-up includes tables, chairs, food, beverages etc… Maintain a high degree of professionalism. Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment.

General Responsibilities

Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure boat is set as contracted.

Prepare pavilion for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before the guest arrive.

Be in communication with the lead catering staff regarding any special needs.

Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel.

Pass any information that is needed to the next staff member on duty.

Ensure the proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning.

Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the pavilions, kitchen, and storage.

If no upcoming events, please have boats in a readiness position for any possible site visits and inspections. Ensure that boats are re-set for the next event contract if it is within one day of previous event. This is to include cleaning and detailing of vessel.

Keep inventory of all pavilion equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.

Provide all group guest with a lasting experience of the resort with intent for return business.

Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs.

Delivering Alcoholic and Non alcoholic drinks for service to the client.

Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. To include all trash removal and clean up after event.

Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

Understands and can communicate products and services available at our property.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

2 years restaurant or banquet serving/bartending experience required.

Excellent oral communication skills required.

Positive interpersonal skills required.

Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

Ability to lift heavy objects.

Food Safety course preferred

Responsible Alcohol certification preferred

Hourly rate including gratuity from groups.

Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances

Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.

Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.

Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills

Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.

May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet

Varied weather condition are expected

Will work near moving or mechanical parts

Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

FSLA Information - Hourly rate including gratuity from groups.

Discretion / Independent Judgement

This position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances, as a Catering Server you will be expected to work with guests and victors to ensure satisfaction. A Catering Server will have to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges until that person does not feel that they can handle a certain situation and then they will make a supervisor aware. Any and all guest issues must be made aware to the supervisor.
