Under the general direction of the Airport Assistant Director of Business Development & Marketing, the incumbent supports in monitoring, analyzing and optimizing the airport’s media presence and digital content performance within the community. This role will have a strong community relations presence, helping to foster strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and the traveling public. Responsibilities will include communication and analyses of facts and observations to assist management in decision-making, serving as the liaison between the Authority and other governmental agencies and community organizations.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position with overtime as required. Work schedule may vary as needed and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call status. Work is reviewed through observations and results obtained.

Examples of Duties

Strengthens the airport’s brand presence to identify target audiences.

Enhances community awareness of airport service and its positive impact.

Develops partnerships and leverage relationships with area businesses, tourism, and economic development entities.

Identifies and develops opportunities, improvements, programs, and initiatives to better customer experience and satisfaction.

Collaborates with the Marketing Manager to develop and manage website content and search engine optimization.

Monitors and analyzes traditional and digital media coverage related to airports, airline partners, and aviation industry trends.

Evaluates content performance across platforms (website, social media, email campaigns, digital advertising, etc.) to provide actionable insights.

Assists in developing strategic content based on audience data, market trends, and stakeholder interests.

Coordinates with Marketing Manager to develop reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators, campaign effectiveness, engagement metrics and content reach.

Supports community engagement and outreach activities alongside the Senior Advisor, including attending events, engaging with the chambers of commerce within Brevard County, the Economic Development Commission (EDC and other appropriate organizations to support and represent the airports' regional engagement and visibility efforts.

Assists in coordinating and documenting sponsorships, community investments, and advertising partnerships.

Maintains awareness of competitive activity and industry developments to support strategic planning.

Participates in the development of presentations and public-facing communications using data-backed messaging.

Monitors public sentiment and social media feedback to inform marketing and outreach strategies.

Receives and screens telephone calls, providing information and handling issues that require sensitivity and use of sound independent judgment; responds to requests for information and complaints, refers matters to appropriate Business Development leadership as needed.

Performs administrative tasks in support of Business Development and Marketing

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Aviation Management, Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field

Minimum of three (3) of experience in highly responsible marketing strategy, community engagement capacity, preferably in aviation, travel/tourism, hospitality, or economic development or a combination of education, training, and/or work experience equal to or greater than the requirements listed above as determined by Airport Human Resources

Must possess thorough knowledge of social media outlets and how to effectively use them to communicate airport messaging. Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

Must pass the required FAA security background investigation.

Must attend an FAA Security Standards Class and successfully pass a test with a minimum score of 70.

Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and random alcohol and drug testing.

Must pass a federal fingerprint-based criminal history background check.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of principles, methods and practices used in the design and implementation of marketing programs, public relations, community outreach programs, customer relations programs and management systems.

Knowledge of industry trends and media practices as they apply to developing and carrying out public community and customer relations programs.

Knowledge of principles and practices of sound business communication, promotions, and advertising.

Knowledge of principles and practices of effective public speaking and skill in utilizing effective and persuasive communication to elicit information or garner support for airport actions.

Ability to plan and direct a broad range of programs and services, including community relations, community outreach, and public affairs.

Ability to understand, interpret, explain and apply state, federal policy, law, regulation, and Airport Authority policies.

Ability to generate interest and convey messages through the development of graphic design and persuasive writing.

Ability to represent the Airport effectively in public settings and with media representatives on a variety of issues; present proposals and communicate logically and persuasively in public meetings.

Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, confidential and controversial issues and situations.

Ability to establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Ability to work cooperatively with other Airport employees and the public.

Ability to initiate creative marketing campaigns.

Ability to develop and implement long-term marketing goal.

Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media management tools (such as Buffer, Hootsuite,or Sprout Social), web analytics platforms ( such as Google, Adobe or Webtrends), content creation software (such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or Sketch) and experience with WordPress/ Elementor is preferred. MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is sedentary work; performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk and hear. The employee occasionally requires standing, sit, climb, balance, stoop, and crouch. Specific vision abilities include near distance, far distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some jobs require an employee to be exposed to outside weather conditions, wet/or humid conditions.
