The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach for the 2025-26 school year.
Work Schedule: During the season, the work schedule will be 3-4 hours daily M-F. Various nights and weekends are also required for matches.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Supports Head Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of volleyball.
Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, and spectators.
Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Abides by strict confidentiality at all times. Qualifications:
A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
