Position Overview:
The Millwork Case Mechanic is responsible for assembling and installing casework and cabinetry components in accordance with shop drawings and specifications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble casework units from shop drawings using dowels, screws, glue, and fasteners.
Fit and install drawers, doors, and hardware on millwork components.
Verify accuracy of parts and adjust for proper alignment and functionality.
Work with laminates, veneers, hardwoods, and plywood.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and installers to ensure build quality and field readiness.
Perform quality checks on completed units for finish, fit, and function.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in millwork or cabinet assembly.
Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, joinery, and cabinet construction techniques.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and cut sheets.
Skilled in installing hardware such as hinges, drawer slides, pulls, and locks.
Ability to lift and maneuver large components safely.
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with AWI standards.
Experience in commercial millwork environments.
CNC background is a plus but not required.
