About The Position:

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Cardiff by the Sea, 92007 / Hybrid (3 days in office)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Motion Design and Video Specialist is responsible for executing video and animation projects from start to finish, including filming, editing, animating, and coordinating with contractors as needed.

Edit Videos

Import raw footage into Premiere or After Effects for Greenscreen Keyout and compositing

Sync raw video and raw audio with Premiere

Cut and edit video footage

Review and select best takes after editing raw footage

Gather video footage (b-roll) as needed

Add music into the final composition as needed

Source and add in voice-overs as needed

Animate Videos

Develop a storyboard for each video script

Gather vector assets from internal collection or via online resources as needed

Prep vector assets for animation and change colors as needed

Draw and vectorize images via Adobe Illustrator as needed

Create digital 2D puppet rigging as needed

Animate in 2D digital, 2.5D, and 3D

Finalize Videos for Publication

Coordinate video review with the Director of Content

Source closed captions and transcripts for each video

Upload finalized and approved videos into the CDN and add them to the video inventory

Transfer files from Dropbox to the local NAS server

Coordinate Video Shoot

Cast talent as needed

Coordinate scheduling with the talent and studio

Operate the camera and lighting or assist as needed

Operate the teleprompter or assist as needed

Organize video scripts and load them into the teleprompter app

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Excellent proficiency with motion graphics and editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Understanding of animation principles

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite and Google equivalents (Docs, Sheets, etc.)

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

High school diploma or GED required

Bachelor’s degree preferred
