Job Summary:
We are currently searching for a motivated, detail-orientated Entry Level Engineer to work within our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying principles of engineering to design, develop, and evaluate processes, products, and systems to ensure efficiency and safety. You must have a strong technical background and be able to work independently. You must also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as be proficient in the use of engineering software packages. Within this position, you will have the opportunity to work within multiple departments to learn a wide range of engineering skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Process Hazard Assessments including HAZOPs
Develop and implement operational readiness plans for new projects and modifications
Utilize HYSIS modeling to support process systems performance evaluation for production optimization
Conduct readiness assessments to identify potential risks and gaps in processes
Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration of new projects
Coordinate with various stakeholders to align operational requirements with project deliverables
Ensure all operations comply with industry safety standards, regulations, and company policies
Troubleshooting and developing solutions to problems encountered with process systems
Conduct safety audits and readiness reviews to mitigate potential risks
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure operational staff are prepared for new systems and processes
Prepare detailed reports on readiness activities, findings, and recommendations
Provide risk-based assurance on the quality of process safety barriers or controls
Develop technical and scope documents to support process engineering oversight of assigned projects
Review project designs from a process engineering perspective
Comply with all Company and Client HSE policies and procedures
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. With 1 year of engineering experience in the energy industry
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is preferred
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., PRO/II, UniSim, HYSYS/AspenPlus)
Process engineering experience in upstream, refining, or petrochemical operations, with a strong understanding of fundamental engineering, and operational practices
A good knowledge of oil and gas facilities, design, operations, procedures, and practices
Initiative-taking and is required to have strong teamwork, and communication (oral and written) skills
Experience with development of Operating Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
Experience with process safety design, industry standards, and best practices
Knowledge of relevant codes/industry standards and best practices for process/design engineering
The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders is also essential
