Summer IT Intern
We are looking for a motivated and service-minded IT Services Support Summer Intern to join our on-site support team in White Plains, NY. The IT Technician will assist the IT Systems Manager in supporting employees and learning about technology from our White Plains, NY office.
This position provides analysis, troubleshooting, and requires excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate can work independently as well as in a team environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems. The ability to communicate effectively with multiple employees as well as with internal teams is critical to this position. Work will be at the White Plains, NY office.
Position Details:
Hourly rate $18.00 per hour
40 hours per week, Monday- Friday 8:00 am. to 4:45 p.m.
Duties
Load & verify software packages.
Support any resource on projects as assigned.
Install & configure PC/Peripherals.
Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department.
Ask questions; encourage.
Provide regular updates to manager and users.
Identify creative ways to solve problems.
Understand and embrace the business and IT strategic direction.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thorough, and must be able to follow through to the completion of a task. Additionally, the candidate:
Possesses excellent communication skills including oral and listening skills
Must keep the team informed for consistency in responses and produce clear documentation
Must be able to multi-task, remaining clearly focused on several tasks at once
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Will advance technical knowledge through continuous education (training courses, publications, etc.)
Will be able to learn new skills and adapt to new procedures
Qualifications
Education: High School or GED
Experience: Some college coursework in computer science or related field
Information Technology skills
Analytical Skills and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical environment
Relevant certifications or a degree in Information Technology or related field is a plus
Physical Requirements
Individuals will be required to use computer keyboards or other equipment for extended periods of time. Individuals may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision for reading and studying technical materials and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of the time. Specific physical abilities required by the job may include walking, reaching carrying and lifting up to 25 lbs, with some occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
