Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for innovation in power conversion products? Astrodyne TDI is seeking a dynamic Lead Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions for medical and industrial markets.
About the Role:
As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our Engineering Organization, offering technical insight and leadership in testing innovative products. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing test racks, designing and interpreting electrical schematics, developing software and validating test systems, and applying your electro-mechanical skills to ensure product quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement automated test platforms and test racks for power conversion products (e.g., AC/DC Rectifiers, DC/DC Converters, DC/AC Inverters, system controllers).
Lead a team of test engineers, guiding and managing the design of test system projects.
Conceive test systems hardware and software architecture, write code for software modules, and review software code developed by the team.
Design, interpret, and utilize electrical schematics to troubleshoot test systems.
Validate test racks, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and safety.
Collaborate with hardware design engineers and project management to meet quality standards.
Perform hands-on implementation and troubleshooting of complex hardware and software integrations.
Set up and utilize interfaces for common embedded and industrial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, 1553, UART, SPI, I2C, EtherCAT).
Mentor junior team members in test engineering methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field, including 2 years of team leadership.
Results-oriented and practical approach.
Knowledge of programming languages and software development tools, systems, and methods.
Knowledge of NI LabVIEW and TestStand is a plus.
Familiarity with C# and VB.net programming languages is a plus.
A hands-on leader who can manage their own technical projects while guiding the team.
Ability to see the end goal of a project and pivot when necessary to achieve success.
