Direct Counsel is seeking an Environment & Land Use Associate to join a highly regarded law firm in California.

We have an immediate opening for an associate with 2-5 years of experience in environmental and land use law to join a collaborative and well-established team. This role offers hands-on experience with high-profile projects and excellent career advancement opportunities.Key Responsibilities:

Conduct land use and environmental due diligence.

Advise clients on land use entitlements and environmental/resource permitting.

Provide CEQA and NEPA counseling and compliance guidance.

Defend zoning and/or environmental approvals in state and federal court.

Work with various industries, including renewable energy, transportation, utilities, housing, and commercial development.Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience in land use and environmental law.

Strong writing, analytical, and research skills.

Admission to the California Bar is required.

Experience with CEQA, NEPA, and environmental permitting is preferred.Location & Compensation:

This position is available in Los Angeles or Orange County.

Salary range: $175,000 - $210,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Associates are eligible for various annual bonuses, including a 15% bonus of base compensation for meeting 1,850 annual billable hours (up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work included).
