Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for estimating complex civil and commercial underground utility projects (electricity, gas, telecommunication).
Responsibilities
Prepare and lead the estimating process for complex civil and commercial underground utility projects
Read and review bid documentation to ensure a complete understanding of the project
Prepare and oversee detailed take offs and estimates thoroughly and in a timely manner
Responsible for project sequence/scheduling, budgets, and cost/revenue projections
Understand and adhere to project goals and deadlines
Solicit, evaluate and negotiate sub-contractor quotes
Adhere to B&F Code of Conduct
Requirements
Bachelors degree, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Will consider experience in lieu of degree
10+ years experience estimating complex underground utility projects (electricity, gas, telecommunication)
Experience in project budget creation, developing Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal packages for contracts, scheduling, forecasting, submittals, job meetings, and bid day management
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, and a strong attention to detail
Ability to build positive and sustainable relationships with peers, subordinates, and vendors
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Knowledge and experience using Bid2Win, HCSS Heavy Bid, Hard Dollar, and Microsoft Project
