Burrow Global has an immediate need for an experienced TAR Scheduler for a petrochemical plant on the east side of Houston.
The Turnaround Scheduler plays a vital role in planning and maintaining detailed job schedules for petrochemical TAR projects. Using Primavera Enterprise 6, the incumbent will develop comprehensive job plans—including steps, logic, resources, and dependencies—to support the creation of a reliable TAR Master Schedule that ensures safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead turnaround scheduling efforts for petrochemical capital projects and construction projects during a Turnaround, ensuring alignment with project scope and objectives.
- Perform detailed schedule analysis to confirm compliance with the TAR Work Scheduling Process, industry standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Ensure all scheduling activities adhere to the company's financial, safety, and operational policies, as well as petrochemical industry best practices.
- Develop schedules that support accurate cost estimates, resource planning, and progress forecasting throughout project phases.
- Collaborate closely with the TAR Planner and project teams to design logical schedules and define critical path activities.
- Generate and distribute schedule and resource reports from Primavera to support project controls and management decision-making.
- Prepare look-ahead schedules and coordinate daily planning meetings to facilitate proactive project management.
- Review, validate, and update schedule status reports based on field inputs and progress updates.
- Conduct data analysis and generate KPI reports to monitor schedule performance, productivity, and project health.
- Perform “what-if” scenario planning to evaluate project risks, schedule impacts, and mitigation strategies.
- Interface with the company’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and ensure integration with the Field Schedule for seamless project execution.
- Develop and maintain progress curves, earned value management (EVM) metrics, and other project control indicators.
- Mentor and train team members on schedule control practices to optimize project delivery within the petrochemical industry’s unique requirements.
- Support continuous improvement in schedule management processes and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of construction management principles within the petrochemical industry, with experience in capital and construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in project controls, schedule development, and management for large-scale petrochemical facilities.
- Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive experience with Primavera P6/P3, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling tools.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in TAR petrochemical scheduling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and access field locations for walk-downs and site visits.
- High School Diploma or associate’s degree with additional technical or industry-specific certifications are a plus.
