POSITION SUMMARY
The Imagery Analyst Operations SME V will support the Air Force's Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and STATEFARM programs by providing high-level expertise in imagery analysis operations, systems optimization, and workflow enhancement. This role is familiar with current ISR platforms, concepts of employment, and associated workflows, and is prepared to recommend efficiencies where applicable. The Imagery Analyst SME will work with C2ISR multifunctional teams to evaluate new capabilities or products from an operator’s perspective and provide feedback to the STATEFARM Lead Engineer. Working closely with software and hardware teams, the SME ensures that all image-processing components meet performance expectations and mission requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide subject matter expertise in ISR imagery analysis and operational workflows to enhance product effectiveness and system efficiency.
Collaborate with C2ISR multifunctional teams to evaluate new products, capabilities, and workflows from an end-user perspective as well as the ability to recommend process improvements that enhance analyst efficiency and product accuracy in high-tempo operational environments.
Work with operators to understand and document their workflows to support baseline test activities, identify operational bottlenecks, identify tuning requirement candidates, and establish metrics to validate system performance.
Support the STATEFARM Lead Engineer by recommending optimizations, corrective actions, and system upgrades based on operational feedback.
Identify, track, and document image quality issues and analyst-reported anomalies during testing cycles.
Interface with vendors and engineering teams to suggest and validate hardware and software enhancements.
Maintain configuration-controlled documentation of test procedures, analyst workflows, test results, and performance tuning configurations.
Develop and present recommendations and findings to program leadership and government stakeholders to inform future STATEFARM development and deployment decisions.
Support baseline testing, workflow mapping, and the establishment of measurable system performance benchmarks.
The SME will maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and tuning configurations to ensure reproducibility and compliance with configuration management practices.
Participate in evaluations and fielding of emerging imagery analysis tools and technologies to ensure mission alignment.
Promote process improvements that increase analyst efficiency, accuracy, and system responsiveness in operational ISR environments.
Travel to the integration lab to support TEMs, system operational tests, and evaluation.
Travel to sites for system integration support, operational tests and evaluation, and operator familiarization training.
Capture information to fill operator unsatisfied needs, new feature opportunities, or system enhancements.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Studies, Geospatial Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in ISR Operations, Remote Sensing, or Systems Engineering.
Required Certifications: Must hold a current IAT Level II CompTIA Security + certification (or equivalent).
Preferred Certifications: GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC-F), USGIF GEOINT Analyst, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 10 years of experience in imagery analysis, with 5 years supporting C2ISR operations or DCGS programs.
Extensive hands-on experience with ISR platforms, exploitation tools, and operational employment concepts.
Proven ability to assess and improve complex workflows and to translate operational requirements into technical recommendations.
Familiarity with Air Force and intelligence community test and evaluation processes and configuration management standards.
Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration with software engineers, system integrators, and mission planners.
Experience training system applications and operations for individuals or groups.
Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Advanced understanding of ISR collection platforms, imagery data types, and geospatial analysis workflows.
Skilled in documenting technical procedures and operational workflows under configuration control standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical findings to senior stakeholders.
Effective at problem-solving and working independently in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Proficiency with imagery exploitation and targeting tools, such as SOCET GXP HPAC, ArcGIS, IMEA, and GEOINT software suites.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Must be able to use a computer and related equipment for prolonged periods.
Able to lift 40 lbs. and support system installations and de-installations as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a remote position that will involve travel to various locations within the US and overseas, depending on business needs.
The working conditions for this position may include the following:
Work is primarily performed in an office or secure lab environment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.
Must have and be able to maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Must be cleared for base or site access.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must possess and maintain a current U.S. Passport.
Position may require up to 40% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, to government facilities for integration, testing, or collaboration.
Salary Range $180K-$215K
