POSITION SUMMARY

The Imagery Analyst Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports the Air Force's Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and STATEFARM programs by providing advanced-level operational and analytical expertise in imagery exploitation, system integration, and workflow optimization. This role is pivotal to aligning mission objectives with technology development and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of intelligence products in high-tempo environments.

Working directly with C2ISR multifunctional teams, software and hardware developers, and operational users, the SME evaluates new technologies and capabilities from an operator’s perspective. The SME supports system testing, documents analyst workflows, and recommends improvements to the STATEFARM Lead Engineer to ensure system alignment with mission needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide expertise in ISR imagery analysis and operational workflows to enhance product effectiveness and system efficiency.

Collaborate with C2ISR multifunctional teams to evaluate new products, capabilities, and workflows from an end-user perspective and provide feedback to the Lead Engineer.

Work with operators to understand and document their workflows to support baseline test activities.

Support the STATEFARM Lead Engineer and Imagery Analyst Operations Subject Matter Expert V by recommending optimizations, corrective actions, and system upgrades based on operational feedback.

Log and track image quality issues and user-reported anomalies, coordinating resolution efforts with engineering teams and vendors.

Contribute to the planning and execution of baseline test activities and ensure proper configuration management documentation is maintained.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, results, tuning configurations, and operator guides.

Present findings and recommendations to leadership and government stakeholders supporting capability enhancement decisions.

Ensure system feedback loops are closed by verifying resolution of analyst concerns and performance optimization requests.

Play a lead role in evaluating and fielding advanced imagery technologies, ensuring seamless integration and operator usability.

Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure operators get products that meet their requirements.

Travel to the integration lab to support TEMs, system operational tests, and evaluation.

Travel to sites for system integration support, operational tests, evaluation, and operator familiarization training.

Capture information to fill operator unsatisfied needs, new feature opportunities, or system enhancements.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Studies, Geospatial Sciences, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Certifications: IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+).

Operations Intelligence Course is preferred.

Candidates without a degree but with military training/education in imagery analysis and 9 to 11 years of hands-on experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of experience in imagery analysis and ISR operations, including work with DoD or intelligence community systems.

Proven expertise with ISR platforms, PED workflows, and full-motion video (FMV), electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data.

Demonstrated experience working in collaboration with systems engineers and software development teams.

Experience logging analyst feedback, performing root-cause analysis, and tracking resolution efforts through the system lifecycle.

Familiarity with configuration management and technical documentation practices in classified environments.

Experienced in the capability for image analysts to exploit/create full motion video and wide area motion imagery intelligence products for the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines in support of Geographical Combatant Commanders' intelligence requirements.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of C2ISR systems, mission workflows, and analyst toolsets.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to bridge operations and engineering.

Proficiency in developing and presenting technical recommendations to leadership.

Skilled in writing and editing technical documentation, test reports, and workflow procedures.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with evolving requirements.

Experience training system applications and operations for individuals or groups.

Ability to work as a team as well as independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

Must be able to use a computer and related equipment for prolonged periods.

Able to lift 40 lbs. and support system installations and de-installations as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This a Remote position where the work can be performed remotely with occasional visits to an Aleut location or government facility according to business needs. The working conditions for this position may include the following:

Working indoors in an office or home office environment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.

Must have and be able to maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Must be cleared for base or site access.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position may require up to 40% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, to government facilities for integration, testing, or collaboration.

Salary Range $80-$110K
