Pride Health is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist for a travel assignment at a leading healthcare facility in Tyler, TX.
The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic cytology experience with both non-GYN and normal GYN screenings and be proficient in high complexity testing in an acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and stain microscopic slides from blood, tissue scrapings, and body fluids.Examine cells to detect cancer, pre-malignant conditions, and other abnormalities.Classify and document findings and report significant abnormalities to a pathologist.Perform and troubleshoot manual and automated stains using ThinPrep and other cytology equipment.Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures.Ensure timely and accurate entry of patient and specimen information into the LIS system.Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance in compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.Participate in continuing education and training of new staff.Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and hazardous material protocols.
Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent (Required)Certification:Cytotechnologist (ASCP) or eligibleAnnual membership with a recognized certification agency (Required)Experience:Minimum 2 years of cytology experience (Required)Experience with non-GYN and routine GYN screenings (Required)Experience in a high-complexity acute care hospital setting (Preferred) Additional Information:Location: Tyler, TX 75701Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM/ 40 hours/week.Contract Length: 13 weeksPay Rate: $55 - $60/hour *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
