Job Title: PCBA Estimation Lead

Reports To: VP of Estimation
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient PCBA Estimation Lead to oversee and manage cost estimation activities for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs). This role requires a deep understanding of electronic components, manufacturing processes, BOM analysis, and supplier engagement to produce accurate and competitive quotations for new and existing business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end cost estimation process for PCBA projects, including NPI and mass production.
Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), Gerber files, assembly drawings, and specifications to determine material and labor costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and production to gather necessary data.
Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to obtain quotes for components and assembly services.
Develop and maintain cost models, pricing templates, and estimation tools.
Present cost breakdowns and margin analyses to internal stakeholders and management.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for DFM (Design for Manufacturability) improvements.
Track market trends and fluctuations in component pricing to ensure competitive quoting.
Support the sales team in customer meetings with technical and cost insights.
Ensure timely delivery of quotations in line with customer RFQ timelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
5+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing, estimation, or sourcing.
Strong understanding of SMT processes, component sourcing, and PCB fabrication.
Proficiency with BOM tools, ERP systems, and cost estimation software (e.g., Valor, Excel, CalcuQuote).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple RFQs simultaneously.
U.S. citizenship required for employment eligibility
Preferred Skills:
Experience with global sourcing and cost modeling for high-mix, low-to-medium volume assemblies.
Familiarity with IPC standards and RoHS/REACH compliance.
Exposure to EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environments
