About the Role
The Manufacturing Operations IT Business Partner is responsible for overseeing the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Supply Planning, Production Management and Warehouse Management systems within the manufacturing operations of the organization. The individual in this role will act as the bridge between the IT department and Supply Chain / manufacturing teams, ensuring that the Manufacturing support systems align with operational needs, improves efficiency, and supports business objectives. This position requires strong project management skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and expertise in Manufacturing systems, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Implementation and Optimization
Lead and manage the deployment of Manufacturing System (such as ERP, MES, Production Plan and execution, Warehouse management) ensuring alignment with manufacturing requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain, to ensure the manufacturing systems support operational efficiency
Configure these systems and their modules specific to manufacturing operations such as inventory management, production scheduling, and quality control
Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments
Process Improvement
Lead Manufacturing system implementation of these projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource management, and alignment with project goals
Develop project plans, set timelines, and manage stakeholder communication throughout the implementation lifecycle
Work with external vendors and consultants to manage system upgrades and customizations
Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement using the Manufacturing systems or ERP or time study / automation of batch monitoring and process
Good domain expertise in Materials Management, Production Planning, Warehouse Management, Logistics Execution & Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management, Product Lifecycle Management
Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity through ERP and or Manf system functionality.
Provide ongoing recommendations to optimize Manufacturing system usage, increase automation, and reduce manual interventions
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to improve operational efficiency
Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve delivery times, and enhance supplier performance
Training and Support
Provide training to manufacturing staff in Manufacturing system functionalities and best practices
Act as the primary point of contact for Manufacturing system related queries and issues in manufacturing operations
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to ensure users are proficient in system use
Data Management and Reporting
Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing data within the Manufacturing system, including inventory levels, production schedules, and work orders
Generate and analyze reports on production efficiency, inventory control, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
Support data-driven decision-making by delivering timely and accurate insights from the Manufacturing system
Cross-functional Collaboration
Liaise with IT, finance, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure the Manufacturing system is integrated across all business units
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align manufacturing operations with corporate goals
Ensure that all Manufacturing system related processes in manufacturing comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
5+ years of experience in Manufacturing system implementation and management, specifically in manufacturing environments
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and inventory management
Proven track record in leading manufacturing system implementation or upgrade projects
Strong expertise in Manufacturing systems such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics
Proficiency in manufacturing modules such as Supply Planning, Production planning, shop floor control, and quality management
Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting platforms
Drive integration using various tech stack services such as API based ones
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage stakeholder expectations
