The Position

Arevon is recruiting for the position of Energy Analyst, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century.

The Energy Analyst reports to Energy Manager and will be responsible for delivering short-term to medium-term price forecasting and analytical insights for wholesale energy markets, with a focus on generation, load dynamics, and battery storage operations within Independent System Operator (ISO) frameworks. The Analyst will leverage power flow modeling tools and market data to predict price trends, optimize asset performance, and support strategic planning. This role requires a self-starter with integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to independently address complex forecasting challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain short-term (daily to weekly) and medium-term (monthly to quarterly) price forecasts for wholesale energy markets within ISO environments.

Analyze generation, load patterns, and market fundamentals to identify factors influencing price movements and volatility with a focus on congestion forecasting.

Apply broad knowledge of battery storage operations to assess their impact on price forecasts and grid dynamics, including charge/discharge optimization.

Utilize power flow modeling tools (e.g., Dayzer, Transer, Plexos) to simulate grid conditions and refine price forecasting models.

Conduct independent research and analysis to resolve complex forecasting problems, delivering accurate and actionable insights with minimal supervision.

Monitor ISO market rules, weather patterns, regulatory changes, and supply-demand trends to enhance forecast accuracy.

Collaborate with operations, development, FP&A, Origination teams to integrate price forecasts into asset planning and performance optimization.

Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate price forecasts and underlying assumptions to the markets team and internal stakeholders.

Help to support new project evaluations by forecasting market prices and assessing grid integration impacts.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in wholesale energy markets, with a strong understanding of generation and load dynamics within an ISO (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT, MISO).

At minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with power flow modeling tools such as Dayzer, Tranzer, Plexos, or other equivalent platforms.

Coding proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling is highly desirable but not required.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve complex forecasting challenges, and deliver results

Strong integrity, honesty, work ethic, and self-starter mentality, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields. Economics, Engineering, Finance, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or similar disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

Broad knowledge and understanding of battery storage operations, including charge/discharge cycles, efficiency, and ancillary products.

Experience with YES Energy platforms API for market data analysis is a plus.
