We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Scientist / Principal Scientist to join our Global Discovery & Innovation team. This position is in our Atlanta R&I Center. You will have the opportunity to work on pioneering projects that drive significant future growth in current and new Kemira business areas.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Technology scouting and building new partnerships

Executing idea screening and incubation

Proposing and executing Proof of Concept projects

Planning, execution, and management of new technology exploration projects

Managing technical aspects of projects and securing progress.

Technoeconomic calculations

Patenting and managing intellectual property rights

Managing internal stakeholders and external partners

Dare to experiment, Drive for results, Proven self-starter

Building relationships and new partnerships externally

Managing and navigating stakeholders for maximum agility of projects

Inorganic Chemistry or Materials Science

Process chemistry, Chemical engineering, Construction industry materials, OR Mining process beneficiation chemistries

Exploration of new technologies and solutions

Executing longer innovation projects to create the first evidence and enable subsequent commercialization

Part of a global team with flexibility in working with different time zones

Up to 10 % travel

What you'll bring to the team:

M.Sc. with over 5 years of work experience

Ph.D. with 5 to 10 years of work experience

Examples of work experience appreciated: Planning, execution and management of product development projects. Scaling up of new technologies. Technoeconomical calculations. Technology scouting. Building of new partnerships. Patenting. Chemical formulation. Solving manufacturing process issues. Construction industry materials. Mining process beneficiation chemistries.

The starting salary range for consideration for this position is $113,000 to $140,000 per year with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The actual starting salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant employment history & experience, skill set/competencies, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid time off, life/disability insurance and a 401k retirement plan (which includes a company match). There is also the opportunity for hybrid work.
