As the Technology Capability and Operations leader, you'll be responsible for driving cross technology Lean Management processes, operational excellence, portfolio management, key performance metrics, and testing/requirement practices. You will also be a member of the leadership team that develops/implements the Technology Strategy; you'll be accountable for execution of the strategy by working across Technology to ensure strategic alignment. You'll work to improve capabilities related to planning, business transformation, change management, operational metrics, and reporting. You'll work closely with other teams to define and optimize an engagement model across shared services, business solutions areas, and software engineering organizations to improve how work is done.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures the execution of Technology’s Strategy is alignment with the company’s strategy and drives the execution of the strategy through all parts of the Technology organization.
Responsible for creating Technology’s Lean Management System vision and execution throughout the organization; by gaining alignment around operational excellence, lean management practices, analysis practices, and performance improvements. Builds Lean automation, continuous improvement frameworks, methodologies, supporting curriculum, tools and systems to support enterprise goals.
Responsible for the requirements, planning, engineering, tools, and execution of Technology’s portfolio in support of strategic and operational goals; including partnering with Finance to align the technology portfolio to affordability goals and our overall workforce strategy.
Partners closely with top leaders to drive business case development, analysis, and prioritization across technology to implement effective solutions.
Leads the delivery of Technology’s core reporting and insights in aggregate; inclusive of ensuring proper resourcing, requirements gathering, governance, documentation, expense management and communication.
Leads the Testing and Analysis portfolio of applications and teams including the strategy for future testing tool and platform decisions.
Leads all aspects of associate management, including performance, salary administration, training, and development, hiring, day-to-day management and corrective actions.
Accountable to develop, evolve and grow the workforce strategy for NW technology; including the development and maintenance of the demand and capacity practices to support our workforce strategy locally and globally. Provides leadership to the creation of new Global Workforce Channels and serves as an on-shore partner for our Global Capabilities development.
Partners with Technology business leaders and matrix partners to understand and translate desired workforce staffing demands. Coaches, prepares, and accelerates the delivery of technology talent needed to meet staffing forecasts. Drives establishment of and adherence to entry level and early career framework and commitments while monitoring overall satisfaction, progress of all ongoing work and projects, and process improvement for service delivery. Builds feedback loops to ensure business expectations and needs are understood and met.
Provides oversight and enhancements of the processes and frameworks necessary to support project delivery in support of Technology’s strategic priorities; understands technology delivery practices and serves as a critical relationship manager to ensure priority and focus of resources aligned to business outcomes.
Maintain, grow and evolve the NW Technology Methodology (ASDF) and drive adoption of the capabilities.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to SVP, Chief Data Officer. Leads a team of five to six direct reports and 65 -75 indirect reports. Works largely through matrix relationships across technology and business units.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Degree in computer science, architecture, data science, usability, or design thinking preferred, plus related technical and managerial experience. Equivalent work experience to be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Ten years’ experience in managing process design, operations, or technology. Experience leading multiple, large-scale projects to successful completion. Five or more years people leadership.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: High technical acumen focused on operation efficiencies, Lean practices and strong ability to influence direction without having positional accountability. Exceptional prioritization and ability to focus matrixed teams on driving tangible business outcomes.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.
