Role Summary

The Orders Operations team is comprised of a team of experienced professionals and critical thinkers who are passionate about delivering successful products and services in a structured and efficient manner. We strive to exceed customer and company expectations every day and are looking for the right person to join our rapidly expanding team.

Holders of this position execute all aspects of the order management cycle from purchasing to expediting. This position is responsible for routine order processing and serves as the day-to-day supplier interface.

This position interacts with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment and must be flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion to serve customers, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence. This is a hands-on position with regular customers and suppliers via telephone and email. Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate well with other departments are key to success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

Processes orders to suppliers. Expedites orders as needed.

Manages price level and margin on day-to-day customer orders.

Proactively updates order management with status as estimates change.

Reviews supplier acknowledgments for accuracy and notifies supplier of any discrepancies.

Updates the ERP system relative to order status, estimated ship dates, and tracking.

Works with the customer and suppliers to accommodate customer order changes, scheduling changes, and cancellations.

Performs material and lead time research and obtains supplier quotes to support the Sales Team. Sources material from existing or potential new suppliers to ensure we are sourcing material at the most cost-effective price levels.

Maintains and administers order records.

Cross trains to be an effective team player and back up resource for others as needed.

Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. It has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised.

Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Physical demands:

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.

Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.

Typing 50 wpm minimum required.

Lightweight lifting may be required.

Minimal Travel, which is less than 5% to the Greater Boston area as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in customer service, order management, and/or procurement. Order management in a technical or manufacturing environment a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, and Outlook, with emphasis on expert Excel skills) and other computer applications (Windows OS, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome).

• Extremely reliable, conscientious and career-minded with a professional and positive attitude.

• Must be the consummate Team Player willing to wear many hats and do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

• Must possess good time-management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail while handling multiple tasks and priorities. Accuracy and speed are essential for this position.

• Demonstrates desire for assisting customers and strives to go the extra mile to serve them.

• Must be dedicated to superior, high quality customer service and have a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done correctly and on time.

Preferred qualifications:

• Effective mastery of Emerson tools and databases (Fisher 2, Process World, etc)

• Effective mastery of NECI business systems (SalesForce, IFS). Prior experience working with an MRP/ERP business system strongly preferred. You must be able to learn new software systems quickly and as required.

• Knowledgeable of Emerson and NECI systems products, accounts, markets, and competitive presence.
