Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Private Chefs to join our network of independent contractors who execute our pre-designed menus for client events. As a contract chef with Flora and Fauna, you'll prepare and serve our established menu concepts at clients' homes and event venues. This is an ideal opportunity for skilled culinary professionals looking for flexible contract work with premium clients.

Key Responsibilities

Execute pre-designed menus for private events according to our specifications

Prepare dishes with precision and attention to detail as outlined in our event contracts

Follow established recipes and presentation guidelines

Provide professional service during events

Maintain clean, organized workspaces in clients' homes

Coordinate with event staff when applicable

Ensure food safety standards are maintained throughout service

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years experience as a professional chef

Ability to execute diverse cuisines with technical precision

Strong time management and organizational skills

Professional appearance and client-facing demeanor

Reliable transportation to event locations

Food Handler's certification

Availability for evening and weekend events

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Contract Details

Independent contractor position (1099)

Competitive per-event rates based on menu complexity and guest count

Flexible scheduling - accept or decline assignments based on your availability

Most events range from 2-8 hours plus preparation time

Events primarily within the tri-state area
