We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with strong EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) experience for a 3-month contract engagement with a leading consulting firm. This role involves conducting a comprehensive EDI assessment and supporting vendor selection for a major transformation project. The position is remote, with occasional travel to the end-client site as required.
Responsibilities:
Lead discovery and assessment activities related to the clientâ s current EDI processes, systems, and trading partner requirements.
Gather and analyze business requirements by working closely with stakeholders, including operations, IT, and external vendors.
Map current-state EDI processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Facilitate vendor evaluations by preparing RFPs/RFIs, assessing vendor capabilities, and supporting decision-making processes.
Translate business needs into clear and detailed functional and technical requirements.
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and documentation to ensure alignment among cross-functional teams.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support the consulting team and client leadership.
Assist in planning and roadmap development for potential EDI system upgrades or migrations.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in consulting or client-facing roles.
Experience working with Oracle and Clio a plus
Proven experience working with EDI systems, standards (X12, EDIFACT, etc.), and trading partner integrations.
Strong understanding of EDI-related business processes in industries such as logistics, healthcare, or retail.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience supporting vendor evaluations and selection processes.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
Willingness and ability to travel for occasional on-site meetings (domestic).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with system modernization or digital transformation projects.
Familiarity with EDI software platforms (e.g., Gentran, IBM Sterling, SPS Commerce).
Previous experience supporting RFP development and vendor scorecards.
