Summary
We are seeking a skilled, focused Cook 2 with a passion for food preparation and experience in kitchen operations. A Cook 2 performs the advanced tasks required to prepare, cook, bake, and dispense food items according to menu. Experience in using various cooking techniques and kitchen management is important. The ideal candidate can prepare nutritious, delicious and attractive food to be served at the appropriate temperature. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele.
Cook 2 Job Responsibilities
Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
Directs cold food production in accordance with standards of plating guide specifications.
Monitors to the detail and presentation of each order.
Coordinates preparation of ingredients for recipes, including the slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing of ingredients; checks seasonings and verifies taste; and directs plating of meals.
Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
Adheres to proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas, including scheduled cleaning. Requirements:
Proven experience as a cook above the level of a Cook 1
Able to direct and assign various tasks to Cook 1's and servers, in a professional manner
Experience in following recipes and timing of preparation
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Ability to work in a team
Very good communication skills
Excellent physical condition and stamina
