Position Summary: Our client is seeking a seasoned, well-rounded Project Manager with extensive experience in driving and successfully completing medium and large, cross-functional initiatives. The successful candidate will be a leader, driver, doer, bridge-builder, motivator, and evangelist. They will be equally comfortable discussing project strategy with executives and reviewing tasks with engineers. While technology may not be their first language, it is their second language, and they are skilled at translating between business and technology stakeholders. Asking tough questions is as natural as breathing for this person and they instinctively know when to dig deeper and when to move on. They get a thrill from untangling the complex, exhibit grit and positivity in equal measures, and love it when a plan comes together.

The Project Manager will be a member of the Technology organization, but will lead large, cross-functional projects for the Company, leading through influence across matrixed project teams. The Project Manager will report into the AVP - Portfolio & Project Management and will help ensure that key organizational project deliverables are achieved.

Contract Position: This is a contract position that goes through the end of the year with a possible extension

Hourly Rate: The hourly rate for this position will be between $50-$70/hr

Location: This position is remote

Essential Functions/Responsibility:

Project Leadership (70%)

Create project initiation artifacts (e.g., Project Charter)

Develop project plan including timeline and resource model

Design and execute the communication and change management plan with the assistance of Society Change Management & Communications resources

Uncover, document and manage issues and risks

Manage Vendors & Stakeholders

Plan and facilitate regular project team meetings

Communicate project status on a regular basis

Work with Finance partner(s) to track and maintain project budget

Execute business analysis tasks as needed (e.g., requirements gathering, process analysis)

Assist with QA and/or User Acceptance Testing as needed

Project Oversight & Administration (30%)

Assist with the development and adoption of standardized project templates and processes

Mentor and provide guidance to resources serving as project managers for less complex projects Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Years of Experience Required: 6-9 Years

Minimum Education Required: BA/BS or 8-10 years of Project Management experience (may include some experience as a Business Analyst)

Professional License/Certification Required: PMP preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills/Competencies Required:

6 years related experience leading and managing projects

Successful completion of at least two large/complex, multi-functional projects with a large technology component

Strong communication skills and project management skills to create systems and tools to transparently share plans, milestones, activities and hold key stakeholders accountable for implementation of the plan

Highly motivated to create strong organizational relationships and demonstrated effective collaboration and leadership to achieve results.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards

Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

Proven experience with vendor management

Previous nonprofit experience preferred

Experience from project plan to implementation of a SaaS application
