EWC is seeking an Assistant Billing Manager who is ready to step into a supportive management role within our dynamic billing team. The ideal candidate will bring:

At least 2-3 years of medical billing experience, with a strong understanding of billing processes, insurance claims, and payment posting

A minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role, such as team lead or senior biller preferred

A warm, engaging personality with a passion for delivering excellent client service

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement effective solutions

A proven track record of professionalism, administrative efficiency, and a positive, can-do attitude

A dependable, detail-oriented approach and a drive to take initiative and follow through Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Submit accurate and timely insurance claims

Process client and insurance payments with precision

Verify insurance benefits and ensure accurate documentation

Complete and manage credentialing and re-credentialing applications

Identify and resolve irregular or "one-off" billing issues in real time

Monitor and manage insurance aging reports to ensure timely follow-up

Process and record check payments efficiently

Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails

Deliver excellent customer service to clients and internal team members

Support therapists with billing-related questions and issues

Maintain and uphold established billing policies and procedures

Ensure all billing processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner

Assist the Billing Manager with additional billing tasks as needed

Serve as a point of escalation for complex billing issues, offering clear solutions and guidance Requirements & Qualifications:

Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and resolve billing discrepancies

Professional, friendly, and approachable communication style

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in English

Computer literate and comfortable using electronic health records (EHR), billing platforms, and spreadsheet tools

Results-driven, patient, and adaptable under pressure

High degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and trustworthiness

Reliable and responsible, with prior experience in an office setting

Open to training, constructive feedback, and ongoing professional development

Proficient in phone and email correspondence, with strong customer service skills

Hands-on experience with medical claims, including Medicare and commercial insurance billing

Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes, and a clear understanding of how insurance carriers operate

Ability to assist with training new billing staff and reinforcing billing policies and procedures

Capable of supporting the Billing Manager in developing and refining workflows and documentation practices

Comfortable managing sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism

Ability to analyze billing data and assist with reporting on key billing metrics as needed Job Type: Full-time

Compensation:

$62,000 - $67,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits:
