Full Time position

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a current certified educational facilities manager certificate (CEFM).

High school diploma required.

Minimum of 7 years experience preferred in school maintenance and custodial operations, or an equivalent mix of maintenance and custodial experience of large corporate facilities including school maintenance experience.

Minimum of 2 years experience preferred in direct supervision of maintenance/custodial personnel.

General knowledge of construction, maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.

General knowledge of building codes, state and federal OSHA and environmental codes.

Experience in grounds care and maintenance.

Strong computer skills. Knowledge and ability to use Google Suite (Google Docs/Sheets/Slides) and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Building & Grounds

SUPERVISES: Assist in supervising of Custodial and Maintenance staff

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

JOB GOALS: To assist the Supervisor of Building & Grounds in the daily operations and maintenance requirements of the school district to provide students and staff with a physical environment that is clean, safe and efficiently operated. Assist in overseeing and coordinating the responsibilities of the school custodians (day and night).

1. Project Management Support

Assist in planning, reviewing, and monitoring all district operational, maintenance, and capital projects in conjunction with the Business Administrator.

Assist with preparation of the district's Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP).

Provide support for NJ State Department of Education monitoring for facilities.

Assist in supervising and overseeing improvement and renovation work performed by in-house personnel and outside contractors, ensuring contract compliance before recommending final payment. 2. Budget and Financial Records

Assist with budget control for all operational and maintenance accounts under the direction of the Business Administrator.

Assist with documentation required for the State Department's QAAR report. 3. Daily Operations

Assist in the supervision of the daily operations across the district through oversight of school custodians.

Assist with work schedules to ensure effective maintenance in individual buildings.

Assist in overseeing field and facility preparation for athletic and school events.

Assist with monitoring outside contractors for compliance with agreements.

Assist in overseeing maintenance schedules and inspections for district vehicles in accordance with DMV regulations.

Assist in conducting regular inspections of buildings and grounds.

Ensure Right-To-Know and AHERA compliance.

Assist in plans for effective and visually appealing landscaping and grounds care. 4. Staff Management

Assist in supervising custodial and maintenance personnel.

Assist in ensuring ongoing training in latest technology and safety protocols.

Assist with monitoring and certifying time records of custodial staff for payroll.

Assist in evaluating custodial staff in accordance with Board policy. 5. Health, Safety, and Compliance

Assist in ensuring adherence to fire, safety, environmental, and building code regulations.

Assist in conducting regular inspections and tests of electrical systems and other facilities for safe operation.

Assist in overseeing maintenance of fire alarms and extinguishers, and coordinate fire drills with the Security Coordinator.

Assist in attending safety committee meetings; prepare agendas, minutes, and reports for insurance representatives.

Assist in participating in school security audits and maintain building safety protocols.

Assist in establishing and managing key control procedures and after-hours facility security checks.

Assist with managing district snow removal operations, coordinate with police/radio stations, and advise the Superintendent on conditions. 6. Record Keeping

Assist in maintaining custodial reports, building condition assessments, inventory inspections, and preventative maintenance logs.

Assist in reviewing supply, equipment, and fuel needs and make purchase recommendations. 7. Other Duties

Attend Board committee and other meetings as assigned.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Business Administrator.
