Hardware Design Engineer L1 - TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

We are seeking a Level 1 Hardware Design Engineer to support mission-critical RF systems in a dynamic, high-security environment. This role requires foundational knowledge in VSAT systems, RF communications, and hardware integration. The ideal candidate will support both legacy equipment and new system deployments by conducting remote site surveys, integrating field hardware, and troubleshooting RF and fiber systems.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct remote site surveys and hardware evaluations
Support VSAT design, installation, and integration
Perform RF interference detection and mitigation
Interface with customer and site personnel for system maintenance and deployment
Diagnose and troubleshoot RF and fiber-optic systems using TMDE
Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals for system setup and issue resolution
Install, test, and repair fiber optic cables and components Required Experience & Skills
Knowledge of RF spectrum fundamentals and propagation
Hands-on experience with RF Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
Experience with antenna apertures, RF feed assemblies, servo systems, and frequency converters
Understanding of systematic troubleshooting methodologies
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Fiber optic installation and maintenance expertise
Familiarity with RF communication systems components (e.g., LNAs, frequency converters, ACUs)
Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 annually.
